Salsa and Swing

This is a 6 week progressive program that teaches two of the most popular and fun dances: SALSA and SWING.  Your kids will learn a set of patterns certified and approved by DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association) and NDCA (National Dance Council of America), along with the proper form, technique, and styling of each dance.  Allowing them to make use of their knowledge and creativity by creating their own routines, and  mixing and matching the different patterns.

Beginners welcome! No experience needed, no partner needed!

Performance Team

In this class your kids will learn mostly choreography.  A fusion of different dance styles, focusing mainly on the natural talents/skills of each individual, in order to improve them.  Working and learning proper technique, styling and performance skills.

NOTE:  A background in any dance style, gymnastics, and/or martial arts is a plus, but not required to be eligible for this class.

During School Hours

This program can be implemented as part of PE, Arts Education, or as an extracurricular activity.  **Ages 6-14

Each grade learn 3 different Ballroom and Latin dances in a total of 24 classes (8 classes per dance): Merengue, swing, tango, salsa, cha cha and Waltz (depending on the age/grade).  Students will be taught the DVIDA (Dance Vision International Dance Association) syllabus, along with the proper technique and performance skills of each dance.

*Choreograph your own routine

In addition to the 24 classes, there is a “cultural dance of the month” (total of 6 classes, one per month).  Introducing the kids to some of the different traditional dances all around the world.  Exposing them not only to learning the history of it, but also inviting them to participate by dressing up accordingly, dancing, playing games, and sharing their own experiences.  We live in a country with a very rich cultural diversity, and it is important to teach our kids (the future of the world) to love, respect and appreciate each others differences.

After School Dance Program

Every parent should know the value of education in their child’s life, especially during the stages of infancy to adolescence. Education should not stop after we pick up our kids from school.   After school programs can:

  • Improve students’ academic performance.
  • Reduce risky behaviors.
  • Promote physical health.
  • Provide a safe, structured environment for the children of working parents.
